Phoenix Trading

I’m an Independent Phoenix Trader. I sell great quality greetings cards, gift wrap, stationery and accessories to my friends and family, staff at local businesses and to customers at events. I have my own pages on the Phoenix website and you can order online or contact me via the contact page for further details.

I first heard of Phoenix when a friend of mine started selling the cards. I was really impressed with the quality and value and bought some cards from her. Over the year I watched her business blossom and kept toying with the idea of getting involved myself. In September 2011 I took the  plunge and signed up as a Trader myself.

I started by showing the sample cards and brochures to my friends, taking orders and buying stock to fulfil them. Then I decided to buy in some stock of my own. I make up baskets of cards and take them into local businesses. Lots of businesses are happy to take the cards and keep them in the staffroom for a week: staff help themselves and leave money in an honesty box for me to collect at the end of the week, or if there’s something I don’t have in stock they can order from the catalogue. I’m also hoping to secure a stall at a local event soon, which will be another way to build the business and introduce it to potential return customers.

I wouldn’t feel comfortable in business if I didn’t genuinely love the products. Phoenix cards are gorgeous – obviously not everything is to everyone’s taste, but there’s so much in the range that I like, it’s easy to talk to people about it. They’re good value too: cards from the normal range are £1.50 each, or £1.20 each for orders of 10 or more.

Being a Phoenix Trader fits in with my family life. I take brochures to toddler group and on the nursery run, and drop baskets off into shops in the village and nearby. I can sort out my baskets and orders in the evenings when the kids are in bed. I’ve found the community of Phoenix Traders very supportive too, with lots of help and support on their Facebook page and online.

If you think that Phoenix Trading might be for you, you’re welcome to contact me for further information, an honest account of my experiences and a friendly chat. Phoenix are always looking for new traders and building my own team will be the next step in growing my business.
